Dr. Murad has apologized for his rude remarks and misogynistic obscenities on social media. He resigned from the Cabinet today showing “personal reasons” after criticism arose against him recently.

Murad Hassan apologized in a post on his verified Facebook id on Tuesday afternoon.

“Forgive me if I have done anything wrong or if my words have hurt mothers and sisters,” he wrote in the Facebook post.

He further wrote in the post, “I will abide by all the decisions of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ordered him to resign from the Cabinet by Tuesday for making disrespectful remarks on social media.

In a recent interview, State Minister of Information and Broadcasting Murad Hasan made disrespectful remarks about BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Acting Chairperson Tareq Rahman and her daughter Zaima Rahman.

Shortly afterward, a conversation was leaked where Murad used obscene language to actress Mahiya Mahi. On the phone, he told filmstar Emon to grab Mahi by the neck and take her to him (Murad).
