Rain, thunder showers likely over country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Sunday predicted rain and thunder showers at many places in all eight divisions of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
"Light to moderate rain and thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Dhaka divisions; at many places over Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur division with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country," said a Met Office release issued this morning.
Besides, night temperature may remain nearly unchanged and day temperature may fall slightly over the country, it added.
As an outlook for next 24 hours, the BMD predicted: "Rainfall activity is likely to decrease at the end period and night temperature may fall".
Meanwhile, the Cyclonic Storm "JAWAD" over West-central Bay and adjoining area moved northwestwards, weakened into a Deep Depression and was centered at 6:00 am today over Northwest Bay and adjoining West-central Bay.
It is likely to move in a north-northeasterly direction further and weaken gradually.
Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded by 31.6 degreesCelsius at Teknaf and minimum temperature today was recorded by 14.1 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00 am was recorded by 8 millimeters (mm) at Majdi Court.
