Cyclonic storm 'Jawad'  over the west-central bay and adjoining northwest bay moved north-northeastwards and weakened into a deep depression over the same area, a Met Office release said on Sunday morning.

According to the release, the depression was centred at 6:00 am today about 875 kms southwest of Chattogram port, 855 kms southwest of Cox's Bazar port, 695 kms south-southwest of Mongla port and 725 kms south-southwest of Payra port.

It is likely to move further in a north-northeasterly direction and weaken gradually.

Maximum sustained wind speed within 48 kms of t}ie deep depression centre is about 50 kph rising to 60 kph in gusts/squalls. Sea will remain rough near the deep depression centre.

Under the influence of the peripheral effect of the deep depression, deep convection is continuing over north bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.

Steep pressure gradient persists over north1 bay. Rain or rnufrobnshowers with temporary gusty/squally wind speed of 40-50 kph is likely to occur over north bay and adjoining coastai areas of bangladesh.

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number three. All fishing boats and trawlers over north bay and deep sea have been advised to take shelter and remain in shelter till further notice.
