Mugda gas cylinder blast: All 4 of a family die

Shefali Rani Barai, 60, who sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at Mugda in the capital, died in a hospital in the capital on Monday night. With her death, all the four members of a family - who were injured in the explosion, have died.
Dr. SM Ayub Hossain, Resident Surgeon of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery confirmed the information. Shefali Rani had suffered 35 percent burn injuries in the fire.
The explosion took place on the ground floor of a five-storey building in Mugda's Madbar Goli area around 7:30 am November 22, when Shefali's daughter Priyanka attempted to light the gas stove in kitchen to boil water.
Four people - Shefali Rani Baroi, her daughter Priyanka Baroi, 32, Priyanka's husband Sudhanshu Boidya, 35, and son Arup Boidya, 5, - were injured in the incident. They were later rescued and brought to Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.
Of them, Priyanka and Arup died while undergoing treatment at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital on November 24. Besides, Sudhanshu died on November 27.
