42 detained in anti-drug drive in Dhaka

The Crime and Intelligence Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has detained 42 people in connection with selling and consuming drugs in an anti-narcotics crackdown in the different areas in the capital.
They were detained during a raid from 6 am on Saturday to 6 am on Sunday, informed DMP to the media.
According to the DMP, the agency’s crime and intelligence division detained 42 people on charges of drug trafficking and use. At that time, 1,253 yabas, 205.700 grams of pure heroin, 3.655 kg of cannabis, 15 narcotic injections and 20 tapentadols were recovered from them.
37 cases have been registered against the detainees under the Narcotics Control Act, DMP added.
