Schoolgirl found hanging in a flat in Dhaka

The hanging body of a schoolgirl has been recovered from a house in Banasree of the capital on Friday night. 

The deceased was identified as Ahana Rahman, daughter of late Borhan Uddin and a 10th-grader of Abdul Aziz High School & College in Dhaka.

The incident took place at Banasree G Block, Road-6 at around 8:00 pm.

Ahana's elder sister Johana Rahman said that the two sisters live in a flat on the 6th floor of the 6-storey building in Banasree. 

Ahana had a love affair with a boy, Johana said adding that she used to take sleeping pills occasionally over arguments between them. Tonight, she hanged herself with fan. Later,  she was rescued and was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where doctors pronounced her dead at 9:30 pm. 

DMCH police camp in-charge (inspector) Md Bachchu Mia confirmed the death and said that the body has been sent to the morgue.
