Anti-drug drives detained 49 in Dhaka

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has detained 49 drug sellers and users from the city during special anti-narcotics drives on Friday.
568 pieces of yaba tablets, 134 grams of heroin, 600 grams of hemp, 502 bottles of Phensidyl, 42 bottles of local liquor were recovered from their possession during the drive.
Confirming the matter, DMP’s Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations (DC) Masudur Rahman said the DMP and Detective Branch of Police conducted the drive from 6:00 am on Thursday to 6:00 am on Friday.
A total of 35 cases have been filed against the detainees under the Narcotics Control Act with the concerned Police Station.
