The meeting will discuss various issues of flying the `Bangabandhu Satellite 1`.
Prime Minister`s Information Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy, State Information Minister Tarana Halim and Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Chairman Dr Md. Shahjahan Mahmud and senior officials of the government and BTRC officials will be present.
A delegation of Bangladesh government, led by state minister Tarana Halim, has already arrived in Orlando, Florida state. Chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Shahjahan Mahmud was also there.
The information was provided by the company`s Twitter message. The satellite will be flown in the `Falcon-9` rocket from Pad 39 to Cape Canaveral in Florida State. Already, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Agency BTRC announced the final date of flying the country`s first satellite by specifying SpaceX on May 10.
The total cost of implementing the project is Tk 2,990 crore Of this, Tk 1,544 crore is being given from the government fund. And HSBC Bank is giving Taka 1,358 crore as loan to the rest.
There will be a total of 40 transponders of Bangabandhu satellite. Of these 20 transponders will be kept for use in Bangladesh. The remaining 20 transponders will be available for sale to any foreign company.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be directly involved with the program to fly in Florida from Ground Station Gazipur. The delegation led by Prime Minister`s Information Technology Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy will remain in Cape Canaveral.
