A Dhaka court today set July 31 for filing a probe report under the Digital Security Act into allegations of spreading false, derogatory, and obscene information about Mayor Taposh on Facebook following the clash between students and businessmen in the New Market area of the capital.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court Judge Rajesh Chowdhury fixed the date on Tuesday.

The investigation report of the case was scheduled to be submitted on that day. However, the investigating officer could not submit the report. Therefore, the court set a new date for submission of investigation report.

Earlier, on April 26, Monirul Islam, personal assistant to Dhaka South City Corporation mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, filed a case against naming two people and three Facebook users under the Digital Security Act at Shahbagh Police Station.
