A Dhaka court today fixed May 29 for submitting probe report against AIG (SP rank) Mohammad Mohiuddin Faruqe of the supply branch of the police headquarters in the case filed against him for feticide.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam set the new date on Sunday.

The investigation report of the case was scheduled to be submitted on that day. However, the DB police could not submit the investigation report. The court fixed May 29 for the submission of the investigation report.

Earlier, a woman filed the case on March 15. The court accepted the plaintiff's statement and directed the DB police to investigate the allegations and submit a report by May 8.

According to the case records, the woman met AIG Faruqe on Facebook in 2019. In the same year, he had a forced physical relationship with the woman. When he was informed about the pregnancy on March 20 last year, he tactfully gave her abortion medicines.
On March 28 of the same year, when the complainant fell seriously ill, she was taken to a hospital in Dhaka. While identifying himself as the husband of the complainant, the accused signed a bond with the hospital authorities. The abortion was done without her consent, the victim mentioned in the case documents.

When contacted, the AIG denied any knowledge of the matter. "I don't know anything about this matter."
