AL leader Zahirul murder verdict tomorrow

The verdict in a case filed over killing Zahirul Haque, a prominent businessman of Jagat Bazar in Brahmanbaria and general secretary of Natai Dakshin Union's ward no. 5 Awami League, is set for Sunday.

Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 Judge Abu Zafar Kamruzzaman will announce the verdict in the case. Special Public Prosecutor Abu Abdullah Bhuiyan confirmed the matter.

According to case details, Zahirul Haque was returning to his village from Brahmanbaria on the evening of November 14, 2016, with the addition of CNG. At that time, the accused attacked Zahirul Haque with a barricade in CNG and injured him seriously. The accused also hit CNG driver Golap Mia. Later, Zahirul Haque died at Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital at 8:30 pm on the same day. 

Zahirul Haque's younger brother Kabir Hossain filed a murder case with Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station.

After investigating the case, the investigating officer of the case filed a charge sheet against 21 accused. In the case, 16 accused are in jail and the other five accused are absconding.
