A Dhaka court today has sentenced 20 ousted BUET students to death and five people to life imprisonment in the murder case of Abrar Fahad, a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
The court of Judge Abu Jafar Md. Kamruzzaman of Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 handed over the verdict at noon on Wednesday.
SI Nipen Biswas, in-charge of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court, confirmed the matter to Daily Bangladesh.
Earlier in the morning, 22 out of 25 accused have been brought to the jail of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court from Dhaka’s Keraniganj Central Jail. They were produced in the courtroom at 11:40 am before the verdict is announced.
