Writ filed in HC challenging Murad’s MP post

A writ has been filed with the High Court challenging the validity of the MP (Member of Parliament) post of Dr. Murad Hasan who lost his ministry and position. 

The writ has been filed with the concerned branch of the High Court on Wednesday.

Earlier in the morning, Supreme Court lawyer Yunus Ali Akand had said that he would file a writ petition challenging the legitimacy of Murad Hasan’s MP post.

Confirming the matter to the media, Yunus Ali Akand said the writ will be filed in this regard today.  

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Md. Murad Hasan resigned from the Cabinet on Tuesday afternoon. President M Abdul Hamid accepted Murad’s resignation letter at night. Immediately after that, a gazette was published in this regard.    

According to a gazette issued by the Cabinet Division, the resignation letter of State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murad Hasan of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh has been accepted by the President. This resignation will be effective immediately.
