NDC student’s death in road crash: Driver Harun on two-day remand

A Dhaka court today has granted a two-day remand to Harun Mia alias Kailla Harun, alleged main driver of the garbage truck of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) in the incident of crushing Notre Dame College (NDC) student Nayeem Hasan to death at Gulistan in the capital on Wednesday (November 24).

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Moinul Islam’s court granted the remand on Saturday. 

On the day, accused Harun was taken to court. The investigating officer of the case then requested to remand him for seven days for proper investigation. Following the petition, the court granted Harun a two-day remand. 

Earlier on Friday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Harun Mia from Jatrabari in the capital

Noted that NDC student Nayeem Hasan was hit by a garbage truck while crossing the road at Gulistan Zero Point in the capital on November 24. He was severely injured and rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the duty doctor declared him dead.  

The victim’s father Shah Alam Dewan filed a case in this regard. The court on Thursday granted a three-day remand to Russell Khan, a car helper.
