PK Haldar, who was arrested in India on charges of embezzling more than Tk11,000 crore from Bangladesh, has been asked to place in custody for another 14 days.

When PK Haldar was produced before the court on Tuesday, he was directed to be taken to the special court of Bankshal CBI on June 21.

Earlier, the accused, including Haldar, were produced before an Indian court at 11am on Tuesday.

Apart from North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, and Eastern Metropolitan Bypass, PK Haldar and his associates had set up illegal businesses in different parts of West Bengal.

Enforcement Directorate (ED) lawyer Arijit Chakraborty told the court that the ED had so far found six bank accounts, 40 immovable properties, evidence of a bank deposit of Tk60 crore and seven houses in Malaysia.

Arijit Chakraborty said it was not possible to say at this time in the interest of the investigation which Indian political leaders were named.

PK Haldar and six others were arrested on May 14 in Kolkata.

The ED has already recovered around Tk150 crore, passports and mobile phones from different countries.
