Alexander Stryuk, mayor of Ukraine’s Severodonetsk, has claimed that 1,500 people have been killed so far in the Russian attack.

The mayor of Severodonetsk made the claim on Thursday.

Mayor Alexander Stryuk said the city still has 12,000 to 13,000 people. Sixty percent of the buildings were destroyed by the Russian troops. “Only 12 people have been evacuated” from the area.

The city of Severodonetsk in the Luhansk region of Donbas is the only one under Ukrainian control. Russia continues its offensive to seize Severodonetsk. Russia has been trying to seize Severodonetsk since mid-April after withdrawing troops from the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and concentrating in eastern and southern Ukraine.

Noted that the Russian army launched an attack on Ukraine on the morning of February 24. The war is still going on. Two Russian officials say “the war is not over soon”.
