A fire broke out at a Russian defense ministry installation in the southern Belgorod region bordering Ukraine.

The governor of the Belgorod shared the information on Sunday.

In a telegram, the governor said there were “no immediate reports of injuries or severe damage”. As seen in the picture shared on social media, a big funnel of smoke is rising on the ground.

Russia’s armed forces, meanwhile, have claimed responsibility for a series of rocket attacks on 17 Ukrainian military installations where it killed more than 200 Ukrainian troops. The attack took place on Saturday.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military operation in Ukraine. Since then, the conflict between the two countries has been going on for 7 consecutive days. There are reports of many casualties on both sides. However, there are no signs of an end to the war so far.
