Old age home fire claims 5 in Spain

5 people have been killed in a fire at a old age home in Spain on Wednesday. Several others were injured in the incident.
The incident took place at an old age home at noon in eastern Spain. AFP quoted the Spanish emergency department as saying in a report.
A fire broke out at the old age home in the Moncada area of Valencia late Tuesday night, according to the Valencia region fire department. Later 6 fire engines were deployed at the spot to control the fire.
A total of five people were killed in the blaze, they said. Besides, 11 people who fell ill due to the intense smoke caused by the fire have been taken to the hospital. Later the fire was brought under control. Another 25 people were rescued. Later, firefighters evacuated a total of 70 people from the building.
According to local media, the building that caught fire is a two-storey building. After the fire broke out in the middle of the night, the fire brigade and the police along with the staff of the old age home also took part in rescuing the trapped elderly people.
Spanish officials initially thought the building caught fire through a short circuit.
