Libyan warlord General Khalifa Haftar has secretly visited Israel and his plane was spotted at Tel Aviv's Ben-Gurion Airport.

It was reported a few days ago that he had been offered to establish diplomatic relations with Israel, in return for which Israel would support him in the presidential election.

Russia's Arabic television channel, Russia Today, quoted an Israeli Hebrew-language newspaper as saying that a Dassault Falcon 900 was spotted at an Israeli airport as General Haftar was visiting Israel. After a short flight to Cyprus, Khalifa Haftar's plane landed at Ben Gurion Airport, where he stayed for two hours.

Earlier, caretaker Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Jebiba visited the Jordanian capital, Amman, and met with a number of officials, including Mossad chief David Bernia. He is reported to have held talks with officials of Israel for normalizing relations with Israel and security cooperation. However, Jebiba denied the news of meeting with Mossad chief Bernia.

The Jerusalem Post reported the secret meeting, based on reports from Saudi Arabia and Libya. But the Libyan government said in a statement that no such meetings had taken place and would not take place in the future. Our position on the Palestinian issue is strong and clear.
