India records 2.7 lakh infections in one day

India has recorded 2.7 lakhs of COVID infections in one day amidst the fear of Omicron, a more contagious type of COVID virus.

Daily coronavirus infection have increased in India. At the same time, the death toll has risen. In the last 24 hours in the country, this number has reached almost three lakhs. The daily death toll is still over three hundred. In addition, the rate of active patients and identification is increasing with the coronavirus infection. NDTV informed this in a report on Sunday.

According to the Indian Ministry of Health, 2,71,202 new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours. Which is 2,369 more than Saturday. The total infection rate in the country has increased to 16.28 percent. And this is the reason why the doctors are worried.

In the last 24 hours, 314 people have died in India due to coronavirus. With this, the total number of deaths in this South Asian country has increased to 4,86,066 people. On the other hand, Omicron variants have been identified in the bodies of 7,743 people in India so far. In the meantime, Omicron infection has been detected in 28 states of the country.

The number of active COVID patients in this situation has become the cause of most concern in India. According to the Ministry of Health, the number of COVID patients currently active in India is 15,50,377. Which is about 1,32,000 thousand more than Saturday. This number has literally caused fear among health experts.
