Buckingham Palace has taken back military titles and charitable organizations from Prince Andrew, the second son of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II. From now on, he will not be called 'His Royal Highness' by any institutional power.

The announcement was made at Buckingham Palace on Thursday, the day after a court ruling in the United States filed a civil sexual assault case against Andrew.

A statement from the Queen's Office stated that the Duke of York's military cooperation and royal patronage had been returned to the Queen with her consent. Prince Andrew is no longer in charge of any institution and will fight the case as an ordinary citizen. At the same time all his roles have been handed over to the queen for redistribution to other members of the royal family.

Incidentally, Prince Andrew is going to face a civil case in the United States for sexually abusing a woman. The victim herself alleged that he sexually abused the woman in 2001 at the age of 17. In the lawsuit against Prince Andrew, the woman, named Virginia Geoffrey, claimed that Andrew abused her in 2001.

Prince Andrew has denied the allegations. But Buckingham Palace said thay would not comment on ongoing legal issues.
