Russia is not going to make any concessions over the Ukraine issue in the upcoming US-Russia talks. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryakov said this in a comment.

Russia is going to sit for a talk with the United States over the presence of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border. The talks are scheduled to begin in Geneva, Switzerland, on Sunday night, local time.

Ahead of the talks, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryakov said they would not make any concessions on the Ukraine issue. Russia is concerned about Ukraine's bid to join the US-led Western military alliance NATO. The country is reluctant to see Western troops and weapons deployed near its borders.

The talks will continue throughout the week in Geneva starting from yesterday. Russia will hold meetings with NATO and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

The United States will be represented at the talks by Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman. Russia will be led by Sergei Ryakov.
