Mukesh Ambani has hinted a change in the leadership of Reliance Group, India's largest industrial body.

"I want the younger generation to come into the leadership of Reliance," Mukesh said at a Family Day function marking the birth anniversary of Reliance founder Dhirubhai Ambani on Tuesday (December 28).

However, Mukesh Ambani has not yet commented on who will be the new leader.

According to Indian media NDTV, Mukesh Ambani, 64, said Reliance was now in the process of making significant leadership changes. He wants to see the next generation in leadership.

The company did not respond to a request for comment on Mukesh Ambani's remark. Ambani has three children.

Mukesh Ambani said that Reliance Industries Limited will be one of the strongest and one of the largest Indian multinational companies in the world in the coming years. He wants the company to be run with cleanliness. To that end, he wants to take the eco-friendly energy sector as well as the retail and telecom business to unique heights. He expressed interest in getting the right people and the right leadership to make his dream bigger.

He further said, “Reliance should now be handed over to a highly skilled, highly committed and promising young leadership. Our senior leadership, including me, should advise them, prepare them for leadership, encourage them and empower them. We need to see if they can do better than us. We should appreciate the young leadership.
