Kelly Stewart, a resident of Richfield in the Utah state of the United States, found a gold ring that was lost 76 years ago in 1943. The owner of that ring was Richard William Deneke who was also a resident of the same area at one time.
Deneke lost his golden college ring in 1943. The uniqueness of the ring is that the 10-carat gold-made ring bears a memento of the Colorado School of Mines.
Kelly Stewart found the gold ring in the backyard of an abandoned house with his metal detector. Though Kelly Stewart found the ring in 2019, he was searching for its’ owner. On the other hand, the ring owner searched the ring for many years, but could not find it.
“The ring had the initials of a name ‘RWD’,” Kelly Stewart said. Eventually, he started looking for the owner of the ring on the internet and found him from a social site. After getting the ring back, Richard William Deneke himself was overwhelmed.
Deneke said he had been in Richfield of Utah for a while in 1943. He was a student at the Colorado School of Mines when he somehow lost the class ring of that educational institution. Deneke will turn 100 a few months later.
