Legendary Indian singer Nirmala Mishra dies aged 81

Legendary Indian singer Nirmala Mishra passed away at the age of 81 on Saturday (July 31) night at his home in Kolkata due to a heart attack.

She died at his home in Chetla, South Kolkata around 12:05 am on Sunday. The family consists of her husband, son, and daughter-in-law, reports Anandabazar.

According to family sources, the artist's body will be taken to Rabindra Sadan at around 10 am on Sunday.

Her doctor Kaushik Chakraborty said Nirmala was sick for a long time. She was also admitted to the hospital several times in the last 5 years for treatment.

She also suffered a heart attack three times. Three-four days ago the illness suddenly increased. Her blood pressure dropped quite a bit last Thursday.

But she didn't want to go to the hospital anymore. Her breathing problem started on Saturday morning. He died at night.

One of Nirmala's famous songs - Emon Ekta Jhinuk Khuje Pelam Na, Sei Ekjan Dio Na Take Mon, Abeshe Mukh Rekhe, Boloto Arshi,...etc.
 
The artist was born in South 24 Parganas, in 1938. Her father is Pandit Mohinimohan Mishra and mother Bhavani Devi. They came to Kolkata because of their father's job. Her entry into the music world was at the very beginning of the sixties.
