Legendary actor Dildar was a very popular comedian in Dhaka films. His presence on the silver screen made the audience laugh. Apart from the heroes and heroines in the movie, he was one of the attractions. After Dildar’s death, no comedian of that caliber has appeared in Dhallywood till now.
The 77th birth anniversary of Dildar, a legendary actor and a magician of comedy, was observed on Thursday, January 13.
Born on January 13, 1945, in Chandpur, Dildar stopped his studies after passing the SSC and joined the film industry.
In 1972, Dildar debuted his acting career with the film ‘Keno Emon Hoy’. After then, he did not need to look back.
He acted in the popular films like ‘Beder Meye Josna’, ‘Bikkhob, Antore Antore’, ‘Konnadan’, ‘Chaoa Theke Paoa’, ‘Sundor Ali Jibon Songshar’, ‘Sopner Nayok’, ‘Anondho Asru’, ‘Shanto Keno Mastan’ etc.
Dildar’s popularity was so strong that he was made a hero in a movie titled ‘Abdullah’. He did the film opposite Nutan. The songs of the film became very popular.
Dildar’s wife’s name is Rokeya Begum. The couple has two daughters. The elder daughter’s name is Masuma Akhter and the younger one is Jinia Afroz.
As a comedy actor, he was awarded as Best Actor in Comic Role in the 28th Bangladesh National Film Awards in 2003 for his role in the film ‘Tumi Sudhu Aamar’. The year that he was awarded, he left the world by weeping his millions of fans and audience.
Meanwhile, no such arrangement was seen anywhere around Dildar’s birthday. Less than two decades after his death, the people of the Dhaka film industry seem to have forgotten him!
After his death, many other comedians came into the film industry, but nobody match him. No one could fulfill the place of ‘Dildar’. We all remember this actor with great respect.
