BU holds seminar on human rights in debate

Barishal University Debating Society (BUDS) organized a seminar and discussion on “Human Rights in Reception and Debate”.
The discussion meeting was held on Monday (August 1) at 4 pm at the Jibanananda Das Conference Hall of the University.
Nishat Sultana, deputy director (Advocacy Justice for Children) of World Vision Bangladesh, author and human rights activist, was present as the main discussant in the seminar.
BUDS moderator and assistant professor of English Department, Tanvir Kaisar and moderator Sakhawat Hossain, assistant professor of Management department, were also present.
Nishat Sultana said that children can do many things if they want. “If they are given such a chance, they can run a state at will”. For this, proper guidelines and an environment should be created so that they can develop their talents. If they are brought under proper management, many things are possible for them. Meanwhile, she also sheds light on the actions of human rights debaters.
BUDS president Rafiqul Islam Yamin, general secretary Aminul Islam Ashiq and vice president (Administration) Md. Sabbir Hossain and other members of the club were also present. The program was moderated by BUDS publicity secretary Masum Mahmud.
