He said the UGC instructed the universities to stop Rag Day celebration following a High Court verdict.

An office order signed by UGC's private university division director Md Omar Faruque on Monday night directed to stop the celebration of Rag Day at the private university.

It said that an order of Writ Petition No. 4515/2022 of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court directed to immediately stop all sorts of obscenity, nudity, DJ party, indecent behaviour, cruel and prohibited activities and bullying in the name of celebrating Rag Day in all educational institutions of the country.
