CUET shut, students asked to leave halls

Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has been declared shut down. At the same time, all the residential halls of the university have been declared closed.

The matter was informed in a notification signed by Professor Farooq-uz-Zaman Chowdhury, registrar of the university, on Tuesday afternoon. 

The notification said the academic activities and residential halls of the university have been declared shut down “in view of the ongoing tense situation”. This instruction will continue from Tuesday (June 14) to July 14. So, the boys have been asked to leave the halls by 5 pm today and the girls by 10 am tomorrow, Wednesday (June 15).

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the university’s Vice-Chancellor, dean, institute director, registrar, department head, provost and director of student welfare.
