Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni today said world-class education, knowledge and skills should be acquired by utilizing research in the university. In this way, it is possible to build a beautiful and modern Bangladesh in the future by utilizing the future generations of the country.

She said this while inaugurating “Marine Research Hatchery” at Coastal Biodiversity, Marine Fisheries and Wildlife Research Center in Cox’s Bazar at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) on Saturday.

Dipu Moni said the Prime Minister had announced that there would be one public or private university in each district of Bangladesh.

“Since there is a private university in Cox’s Bazar, the government has not taken any plan or initiative to build a public university in Cox’s Bazar at the moment.”

The Education Minister further said the job of the university is to “do research”. New knowledge must be created through research. We have to solve our problems ourselves.

“We have to move fast to keep pace with the world,” she said.

Dipu Moni added that Marine Research Hatchery will be used for advanced research. In this hatchery, especially in Malaysian technology – if hatchery can start production of Barramundi and other commercially important marine fish like Tilapia-Pangas – it will play a significant role in Bangladesh’s blue economy and will revolutionize the country’s fisheries. As a result, researchers from Bangladesh as well as researchers from different countries will work together here.

CVASU university Professor Dr. Mohammad Nurul Absar Khan presided over the function where Cox’s Bazar-3 MP Saimum Sarwar Kamal and Md. Abu Bakar Siddique, secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education and others were present.

Earlier, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni visited and inaugurated the Marine Research Hatchery of Coastal Biodiversity Marine Fisheries and Wildlife Resource Center at Cox’s Bazar in CVASU at 11 am.
