DU student drowns in Zahurul Haque Hall pond 

A student of Dhaka University (DU) drowned while taking a bath in a pond of Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall on the campus. 

The deceased was identified as Palash Ahmed, a third-year student in the Department of Anthropology of the university. 

He died at 2:25 pm at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital on Sunday (May 29). 

It has been reported that Palash Ahmed drowned while taking a bath in the pond of Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall on Sunday afternoon. His friends and students of the hall rescued him before a fire brigade arrived to rescue him. 

Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital. He was kept on Life Support there. However, he died at 2:25 pm. 

Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall Provost Professor Abdur Rahim confirmed the death to Daily Bangladesh.
