University student’s body recovered on Green Road

MD Imam Hossain, 23, a student of a private university, was killed after falling from a seven-storey building on Green Road in the capital. He was a student at Asia Pacific University. 

The incident took place around 8:00 am on Thursday (May 19). After rescuing him in critical condition, he was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. 

Tejgaon Model Police Station OC Apurba Hasan said the student committed suicide by jumping off the sixth floor of the nine-storey university building. Police recovered the body and sent it to DMCH. T

Md Nadim Ahmed, who brought Imam Hossain to the hospital, said that Imam Hossain was the son of Akhter Hossain of Patwari Bari of Nabgram in Lalmohan Upazila of Bhola. He used to live in a house at Dhaka's Green Road.

Md Bachchu Mia, in-charge (inspector) of DMCH police camp, confirmed the matter and said that the body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
