JnU associate professor dies of cancer

Jagannath University Associate Professor Rozina Parveen, Department of Islamic History & Culture, has died of cancer. She died at a hospital in the capital's Panthapath on Tuesday (April 26) morning.

Islamic History & Culture Chairman Professor Md. Atiyar Rahman has given this information.

Expressing deep grief over the death of his colleague, he said professor Rozina was suffering from various physical complications. She was later diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. She was admitted to a hospital in Panthapath a week ago due to her deteriorating condition. There she was treated in the ICU.

Professor Md. Atiyar Rahman said we are going to the university with her body. After the Johar prayers, her Janaza will be held at the central mosque premises of Jagannath University. 

"We are deeply grieved by the irreparable damage done to the history and culture of Islam by her departure," he said. I am praying for the forgiveness of her disembodied soul.

Jagannath University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Imdadul Haque, Treasurer Professor Kamaluddin Ahmed, Proctor Professor Mostafa Kamal, and other Teachers, officials and students of the department have expressed their deep grief. Everyone wishes peace to the departed soul and extends their condolences to the bereaved family.
