Admission to Class XI at higher secondary educational institutions has started today. Once again, the applicants will get to the college through a digital lottery. Earlier, there was an opportunity to apply through SMS, but now one just has to apply for admission online.

The class will start on March 2, the relevant sources said today. 

The Inter-Education Board Coordinating Committee has prepared a roadmap for student admission at the college level. In the application, students will select a minimum of five and a maximum of 10 educational institutions. Merit list will be published in three steps for admission. 

Students must apply for admission online via between January 8 and January 15, said a guideline issued by the Dhaka Education Board.

This time around 21 lakh students have passed SSC and equivalent examinations. Parents and students have expressed doubts about whether there are enough seats for such a large number of students.

However, college officials said that even after all the students are admitted, about 5 lakh seats will remain vacant.

According to Dhaka Education Board, students will have to confirm their selection from January 30 to February 8. If anyone does not confirm the selection, they will have to re-apply with a fee. The second phase application will be taken on February 6 and 7. The results of the first migration and the results of the second phase will be released on February 10.

The selection of the students selected in the second phase will have to be confirmed on February 11-12. If the selection is not confirmed within this period, the application will be rejected. The results of the second migration and the results of the third phase of the application will be published on February 15. The selection of students selected in the third phase will have to be confirmed on February 16 and 17.

Those who can apply: Those who have passed SSC between 2019 and 2021 can apply for admission to Class XI. However, students who have passed SSC from Open University can apply at the age of 22. 

On the other hand, applications for polytechnic institutes may also be accepted from January 8. The technical education board has already sent the proposal along with the admission policy to the ministry for approval.

Application and Admission Fee:

Students will be admitted from February 19-24 at the end of application and selection phase. This time the application fee has been fixed at Tk 150. In the policy, all expenses including admission fees in Bengali and English versions have been fixed at Dhaka and district levels. Admission fee for Bengali and English versions in Dhaka metropolitan area has been fixed at Tk 5,000, Tk 3,000 for outside Dhaka metropolis, Tk 2,000 at district level and Tk 1,500 in upazila and villages. No more than the prescribed fee can be collected. In case of MPO registered organization, session charge and admission fee can be taken. Development fees cannot be collected.
