Boys ahead girls as 1,83,340 students get GPA-5 in SSC exams

A total of 1,83,340 students got the highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5) in the SSC and equivalent examinations under 11 education boards across the country this year which was 1,23,131 last year.

Among the GPA-5 holders this year, 1,03,578 are males while 79,762 are female students.

A total of 1,63,840 students achieved GPA-5 under nine general education boards, while 14,313 students obtained the grade under the madrasah education board and 5,187 under the technical education board.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled the results of the examination at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Thursday morning. The average pass rate this year is 93.58 percent.

On this day, the chairmen of all the boards formally handed over the results of the examination to the Prime Minister. On behalf of the Prime Minister, the Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni received the SSC and equivalent results.

This year, the pass rate of nine general education boards, madrasas and technical education boards is 93.56. Among these, the pass rate in nine general education boards is 94.06 percent.

Meanwhile, 14,313 students got GPA five in Madrasa Board, 10,219 students in Barishal, 12,791 students in Chattogram, 27,909 students in Rajshahi, 49,530 students in Dhaka and 16,471 students in Jashore got GPA-5.
