A wall inside the canteen of Jasimuddin hall of Dhaka University has suddenly collapsed leaving two canteen employees injured. The students of the hall were having lunch on Monday at 1.30pm. Suddenly the wall in front of the food counter collapsed.

There were no major casualties as the wall collapsed at the backside, but students and canteen staff feared a major accident could occur if it fell to the front. After the accident, the hall provost inspected the canteen along with resident teachers and engineers.

A canteen boy narrated as an eyewitness, we were fetching food while it suddenly broke down. The wall was made of low amount of cement. That's why this incident took place.

Canteen manager Mubarak Hossain told Daily Bangladesh that it collapsed around 1.30 pm. No major accident has happened. If the wall fall on the front side, incidents like death would have happened. The injury of the two men who were injured in this incident is not serious.

When asked about the matter, Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdur Rashid told Daily Bangladesh, "We have immediately inspected the canteen with the engineer. An inquiry committee will be set up to look into the matter. Thankfully, no major accidents occurred."
