CMC suspends 30 students, halls open Saturday

The authorities of Chattogram Medical College (CMC) have expelled 30 students in different periods following the clashes between the two factions of students. It has also been decided to reopen the campus, which was declared to close indefinitely on November 27 (Saturday) after the clash.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the CMC Academic Council on Tuesday. CMC principal Sahena Akhter confirmed the development.

She said that 30 students had been suspended on different terms. Besides, the Academic Council meeting has decided to reopen the girls' hall soon. And the boys' hall will open in a few days. However, he did not say when the girls' hall would be opened.

The authorities declared the medical college close for indefinite period after a meeting of the Emergency Academic Council in the afternoon of the day of the incident. Students were also instructed to leave halls by evening. A committee was formed to investigate the incident.
