The Ministry of Religious Affairs has requested Hajj activities-related banks be kept open on Saturday to facilitate sending money to Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.

A letter in this regard was sent to the Governor of Bangladesh Bank from the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Wednesday night.

According to the letter, the Hajj flight started on June 5. For this, in 2022, privately run Hajj agencies are sending the required funds to Saudi Arabia using their respective IBANs (International Bank Account Numbers) in contrast to their registered pilgrims.

The sending money activities will continue on June 11, a public holiday. In order to facilitate the completion of these activities and in the interest of proper Hajj management, it is absolutely necessary to keep all the banks involved in the Hajj activities open on June 11.

Therefore, in the interest of proper Hajj management, the Governor of Bangladesh Bank was requested in the letter to give necessary instructions to keep the banks involved in Hajj activities open on June 11.
