Gold prices drop in Country

Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of good quality gold (22 karats) by Tk 1,116 per bhori in local market. If this price is effective from Tuesday, the price of gold will be Tk 77,682 per bhori.

The information was given in a press release signed by MA Hannan Azad, chairman of the Standing Committee on Pricing and Monitoring of BAJUS on Monday.

It also said that BAJUS has set new prices in the domestic market as the price of gold has come down in the international market.

So far, good quality gold has been sold at Tk 78,849 per bhori. From tomorrow, the best quality (22 karat) gold will be sold at Tk 77,682 per bhori (11.66 grams) which is Tk 1,167 less per bhori than the previous rate.

In the country's market, 21 karat gold will be sold at Tk74,183 per bhori which was Tk 75,349 per bhori.

Besides, jewellers cut the prices of 18-karat gold by Tk 63,569 a bhori. 

Besides, traditional gold will be sold at Tk53,071 per bhori.
