Natore female college teacher death: Mamun lands in jail

A court in Natore today has ordered to send Mamun Hossain, husband of college teacher Khairun Nahar who allegedly committed suicide on Sunday (August 14), in connection with her death.
Mamun Hossain was produced before the court of Natore Judicial Magistrate Md. Moslem Uddin on Monday afternoon.
After a hearing, Judicial Magistrate Md. Moslem Uddin ordered to send Mamun to jail, dismissing his bail petition.
Earlier, in the afternoon, Mamun was arrested under Section 54 and handed over to the court.
Meanwhile, Dr. Paritosh Roy, assistant director of Natore Sadar Hospital, said “no injury marks” were found on the college teacher’s body during the autopsy. As the report of the police and medical team was not confirmed about the murder, the evidence was sent to Dhaka.
Natore Sadar police station OC Nasim Ahmed said the college teacher’s cousin Saber Uddin filed a case of unnatural death with the police station as a plaintiff on Sunday night. As no one was accused in the case, Mamun was handed over to the court this afternoon under section 54.
Noted that on December 12, 2021, Mamun, a college student, and Khairun Nahar, a teacher, got married at a Kazi (marriage registry) office. After six months of marriage, the matter came to light. A year ago, Mamun, a college student from Patpara village of Dharabarisha UP of the same upazila, met Khairun Nahar on Facebook. Later, a close relationship developed between the duo, resulting in marriage between them at one point.
