Enamur for immediate steps to compensate flood damage

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Md. Enamur Rahman said that immediate initiatives will be taken to compensate for the flood damage. 

He said this while exchanging post-Eid greetings at his office in the Secretariat on Tuesday afternoon.

The state minister said, "We have already received the information about the amount of damages. We are compiling it from the ministry. We will be able to inform where and how much damage happened by holding a press conference. We have enough food, rice, tin, and housing materials. We will take a quick initiative to meet the damage by holding an inter-ministerial meeting."

Mentioning that the people have gone through a lot of hardships in the floods, he said, however, the joy of Eid has been seen as the flood waters have receded. We extend our condolences to the flood-hit people. We will stand by the people in rehabilitation process.

"We have provided adequate humanitarian assistance so that the flood-hit people can enjoy the joy of Eid. We also gave cash aid. On the occasion of Eid, we have given two crore taka in cash, one thousand metric tons of rice, four thousand bundles of tin, and one crore 20 lakh taka for housing, the state minister concluded.
