3 lakh devotees prayed Eid Jamaat at Gore-e-Shahid

Holy Eid-ul-Azha’s congregation has been held at Dinajpur Gore-e-Shahid Boro Math, the largest Eidgah in the Asia subcontinent. The organizers have claimed that about three lakh devotees took part in the congregation together.

Worshipers started entering the Eidgah from 7 am on Sunday. At that time, the police members searched them and let them in. Maulana Shamsul Haque Qasemi led the biggest Eid congregation in the country.

Justice M. Enayetur Rahim of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, Jatiya Sangsad’s Whip Iqbalur Rahim MP, who planned the largest Eidgah Minar in Asia subcontinent,   

Whip of the National Assembly Iqbalur Rahim MP, who planned the largest Eidgah Minar in Asia subcontinent, District Council Administrator Azizul Imam Chowdhury, Superintendent of Police Anwar Hossain and other levels of worshipers took part in the prayers. Devotees from 13 upazilas of Dinajpur district and surrounding districts also participated in the prayers.

After the prayers, Imam Shamsul Haque Qasemi said, “The largest Eid congregation in Asia was held with the gathering of millions of devotees. I am very happy to be the Imam of this congregation. This Imamate might not have been possible without the infinite grace of Allah. The more gatherings in the Eid congregation, the more prayers Allah will accept.”

Superintendent of Police Anwar Hossain said four-tier of security measures were taken by the district police to avoid any untoward incident at the congregation. Police took control of the field a day before Eid.

Jatiya Sangsad Whip Iqbalur Rahim said, “We are hoping that more than three lakh devotees have gathered in the congregation held for Eid-ul-Azha. They have performed Eid prayers in this field beautifully.”
