Fire in Meghna Economic Zone extinguished

A fire that broke out at a carton factory named Sonargaon Printing and Packaging in the Meghna Industrial Economic Zone in Tipardi area of Sonargaon in Narayanganj, has been brought under control.
The fire was brought under control around 11:00 am on Monday (July 4), said Brigadier General Main Uddin, director general of the Fire Service and Civil Defense.
He said that the fire broke out in the factory around 8:00 am. On information, 16 firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze afte three hours of frantic efforts.
However, the cause of the fire could not be known yet.
