Engineer dies in train crash

A site engineer of the under-construction Bangabandhu Rail Bridge over the Jamuna River in Tangail has been crushed to death by a train. He died on Saturday night (July 2nd) while was taken to Dhaka for advanced treatment. 

The deceased was identified as Jaber Khan Jony (24). He was working as a site engineer for Toma Construction Company.

It has been reported that Jony was talking on his mobile phone while walking on the railway line in Biaramarua area of Kalihati upazila after finishing his work. He was seriously injured after being hit by the Jamalpur Dhaleshwari Express train.

Workers of the Bangabandhu Railway said Jony was crossing the railway line in Biaramarua area while talking on his mobile phone after finishing his work. At that time, the Jamalpur Dhaleshwari Express train leaving from Bangabandhu Bridge East railway station hit him. 

His legs were severed and he got head injuries. Later, he was rescued and taken to Tangail General Hospital where the doctor on duty sent him to Dhaka for better treatment.
