Nafis Iste Tawfiq Antu, a tenth-grade student from Syedpur Cantonment Public School and College in Nilphamari, broke the Guinness World Record by holding 100 pencils in 1 minute and 65 pencils in 30 seconds back of his hand.

Before that, he set a Guinness Book of World Records by wearing 10 masks in the fastest time and eating bananas without touching them.

Nafis Iste Tawfiq Antu is the eldest son of Yunus Ali living in the Nilkunja residential area.

Earlier, Monirul Islam, son of Zahirul Islam of Nirarchar village in Kalikaprasad union of Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj and a student of Economics for the 2019-20 sessions at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, had entered his name in the Guinness World Records with a pencil in his hand. He became the owner of this record by balancing a maximum of 50 pencils on the back of his hand in 30 seconds.

Now Antu of Nilphamari broke that record and set a new record by holding 100 pencils on the back of his hand in 1 minute and 65 pencils in 30 seconds and wrote his name on the Guinness Book of World Records.

Guinness World Record holder Antu said he was able to set two Guinness World Records in 2021 as the school was closed during the COVID period. He first broke the record by making a chain with a stapler pin and then broke George Pill’s record of 7.35 seconds in the United States by wearing 10 surgical masks in just 7.16 seconds.

“This time, out of many records in the world, I chose the record of holding the highest pencil on my hand in 1 minute and 30 seconds,” he also said. “It took me a few days to prepare to break these two records. Then I applied on February 12 this year through the official website of the Guinness Book. On March 5, the Guinness Book of World Records accepted my application and granted me permission.”

Antu added that he was asked to send video messages of the two records as per their instructions. “I sent the video as per the instruction. The Guinness Book of World Records informed me through an e-mail on June 30 that two of my records had been successful. I am the world record holder in this category this time,” he further said.

Antu says, “By the grace of Allah I have been able to set four records. Besides, it would have been difficult to reach the goal without the help and cooperation of classmates. Everyone’s prayers helped me to fulfill my wish.”

“My son has been busy buying various equipment since he was young. Whenever he gets time, he becomes busy with that equipment. He always thought of discovering something new. He has set four world records in a row. We are proud of that,” Antu’s mother Nasmun Nahar said.
