Man dies from COVID-19, first in 4 months in Bogura

A man died from coronavirus at Bogura's Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in the last 24 hours, which is the first COVID-19-related death in the last four months in the district. 

Besides, six more COVID-19 patients were detected during the period in the district. 

Bogura Civil Surgeon Office's Medical Officer Dr Sajjad-ul-Haq confirmed the information on Thursday afternoon. 

The deceased was identified as Mamtaz Uddin, 65, a resident of Shibganj Upazila in Bogura. On June 28, he was admitted to the coronavirus unit of the hospital and died on Wednesday night there.

Dr. Sajjad-ul-Haq said there are now 20 COVID-19 patients in the district. One of them is undergoing treatment at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital while others are receiving treatment at home. None of the coronavirus patients recovered in the last 24 hours. 

Earlier, one person died of corona in Bogra at the end of February, he said, adding that no one has died in the last four months since then. A total of 706 people have died due to coronavirus in the district. Of them, 566 were residents of Bogura while others were from different districts.
