3 Nigerian nationals detained in Bhairab

Three Nigerian nationals have been detained along with a large amount of Indian Rupees and US Dollars at Bhairab in Kishoreganj.
The members of RAB-14 detained them at around 1.30 am on Wednesday (June 29) in a raid at the Natal intersection in the municipal town.
The detainees were identified as Danny Joseph Simon, 40, Kanti Ongro Abi, 60, and Henry Oghenovo Isiri, 61.
According to RAB-14 sources, acting on information that three Nigerian nationals had entered Bangladesh illegally through the Sylhet border area and rented a private car for Dhaka, a RAB team detained them along with a private car at a check post in the Natal intersection area of Bhairab municipal town.
During interrogation, they claimed to be Nigerian citizens and showed their passports.
However, they have visas to enter India but no valid documents to enter Bangladesh. Four Nigerian passports, 2720 US dollars, 2,69,900 Indian rupees, 350 Nigerian nairas, 8000 Bangladeshi taka and 11 mobile phone SIM cards were recovered from them.
RAB-14 Bhairab Camp Senior Assistant Director Company Captain Rafiuddin Mohammad confirmed the incident and said that legal action will be taken against them.
