Jamaat leader Helali arrested in Chattogram
Police have arrested Jamaat leader Muhammad Shamsuzzaman Helali from Bahaddarhat area of Chattogram city. He was arrested on Friday night.
Arrested Muhammad Shamsuzzaman is a former councilor of ward 6 of Chattogram City Corporation and organizational secretary of Nagar Jamaat-e-Islami and son of Abdus Sattar of Arakan Housing Society in Badurtala area of Helali Nagar.
Panchlaish Police Station SI Aftab Hossain confirmed the information on Saturday afternoon.
He said Shamsuzzaman Helali was arrested in a secret operation. There are arrest warrants against him in three cases. Besides, there are several cases against him of vandalism, arson and sabotage in different areas of the city.
