Miscreants have publicly hacked and slit throat a former UP member in Hajipur, Narsingdi. Two people, including the victim’s son Sujan, were injured.

The incident took place at the victim’s own shop in Hajipur, a suburb of Narsingdi, around 8:30 pm on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Sujit Sutradhar, a former UP member of Hajipur Ward No. 3.

According to family sources, Sujit Sutradhar came to his business establishment from home in the evening. At that time, he was discussing business matters with his son. Around 8:30 pm, 25-30 miscreants attacked former UP member Sujit Sutradhar with sharp weapons. At that time, the miscreants started hacking Sujit Member at random. The victim’s son and shop workers were also beaten and injured when they tried to stop them. Later, the miscreants hacked and killed Sujit Member. He was later rescued and taken to Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Narsingdi Additional Superintendent of Police Saheb Ali Pathan said, “We have visited the spot. For what reason, who or what carried out the attack being investigated. Hopefully, the culprits will be caught soon.”
