Adamjee EPZ fire under control after 9hrs effort

The fire inside the Adamjee Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj has been brought under control by firefighters after trying for about 9 hours at 4:30 pm on Friday
The fire that broke out inside Adamjee Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj has been brought under control. Firefighters brought the fire under control at around 4:30 pm on Friday after trying for about 9 hours.
Earlier, the fire originated at around 7:30 am following a gas line explosion while piling the power plant under construction inside the EPZ.
Abdullah Al Arefin, deputy assistant director of Narayanganj Fire Service, said the fire started at 7:30 am, however, spread quickly due to a gas line explosion at around 10:30 am. Later 9 units of fire service worked to control the fire.
Abdullah Al Arefin said that 9 units of fire service including EPZ, Hajiganj and Mandalpara stations and 65 skilled workers brought the fire under control after trying for about 9 hours. However, the cause of the fire is not yet known.
